7 Days Migration Safaris – Calving Season

On arrival at either Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a representative from Williamson Adventures will greet you and provide transportation to your accommodation in Arusha. Depart early from Arusha and embark on a scenic drive towards the Ndutu area, located in the southern Serengeti and northern Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey takes around 5-6 hours, passing through the Maasai Steppe and the Ngorongoro Highlands. Upon arrival, enjoy a picnic lunch before starting your afternoon game drive. The Ndutu area is renowned for its seasonal abundance of wildlife, especially during the calving season (December to March) when vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles gather. Predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are also frequently spotted. Conclude the day with a sunset game drive, surrounded by the open plains and acacia woodlands. After breakfast, depart from Ndutu and begin your journey to Central Serengeti, a drive that takes approximately 2-3 hours. As you travel, take in the stunning landscapes of the southern Serengeti, watching for wildlife along the way. Upon arrival in Central Serengeti, known for its high concentrations of resident wildlife, embark on an afternoon game drive in the Seronera area. Here, you’ll have the chance to see lions, leopards, and cheetahs, along with herds of elephants, buffalo, and various antelope species. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the field or at a designated picnic site, surrounded by the beautiful Serengeti scenery. After a day of thrilling wildlife encounters, return to your lodge for dinner and relax under the vast African sky, reflecting on your adventures in this iconic national park.

After breakfast, you’ll set off for a full-day game drive in Central Serengeti, exploring the region’s incredible wildlife. Early in the morning, you’ll watch as predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs become active, while also spotting elephants, giraffes, and vast herds of wildebeest and zebras. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot before continuing your drive through areas like the Seronera Valley, known for its big cats and diverse birdlife. As the sun sets, you’ll return to your lodge or camp for check-in, relaxation, and dinner, reflecting on the day’s unforgettable wildlife experiences.

Today you’ll leave Central Serengeti after breakfast and drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival, you’ll descend into the crater for a game drive, spotting wildlife like lions, elephants, rhinos, and large herds of zebras and wildebeest. After a picnic lunch, continue exploring the crater’s unique ecosystem. In the late afternoon, ascend the crater rim and head to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and relaxation with stunning views of the Ngorongoro landscape.

After morning breakfast at your lodge Ngorongoro, you’ll depart for your journey to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Enjoy the scenic drive through the highlands and rural villages of Tanzania as you make your way towards the airport. Depending on your flight time, you may stop for a final lunch along the way or for some souvenir shopping in towns like Arusha.
