Itinerary

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) which caters for domestic flights, you will be met by a Williamson Adventures representative who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. Your overnight stay will be at Four Points by Sheraton Arusha where the rhythm of nature pounds to the beat of an African drum, and where life is all about a revival of the senses.

Early morning after breakfast, you will continue exploring the vast plain of Ndutu with millions of plain dwellers, over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flowing south from the Central Serengeti at the end of December Lake Ndutu area, situated in the Ngorongoro conservation area, is part of the southern Serengeti eco-system. Lake Ndutu is alkaline, like most of the other Rift lakes, however, the water is still drinkable and used by a wide array of local wildlife. The majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. The area is usually heavily populated with elephants, birds, and resident games. After the game drive, drive to your accommodation for your dinner and an overnight stay.

Breakfast at your accommodation before heading out for the crater tour, another must-see destination in Tanzania is the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, located in northern Tanzania. Thought to be the result of a volcanic explosion, this fertile valley is one the most beautiful natural wildlife safari destinations in the world and has even been named one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. The enclosed nature of the crater has created an ecosystem all of its own, resulting in some of the best opportunities to spot game. It also has the densest known population of lions. Buffalo, elephants, leopards, and rhinos can also be seen here, in addition to a host of other well-loved African classics like the ostrich, zebra, cheetah, wildebeest, gazelle, and even hippos, after the extensive game viewing in the crater, we will drive back to Arusha as per the trip schedule for your onwards destination.
