Start your day with an early transfer to Volcanoes National Park for an unforgettable Golden Monkey trek. Spend about an hour with one of the habituated groups, which can include up to 100 individuals.

After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch before visiting the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village. Former poachers share their heritage through immersive experiences: explore a traditional king’s hut, watch herbal medicine preparation, try your hand at archery, and enjoy local drumming and dance. Return to your lodge for a well-earned dinner and relaxation.

Start your day early as you prepare to meet Rwanda’s mountain gorillas. After breakfast, transfer to Volcanoes National Park HQ for a 7:00 am briefing, then continue to the trailhead where your once-in-a-lifetime trek begins. Porters are available for a small fee to carry your gear, enhancing your experience.

The trail winds through the lush foothills of the Virungas and into the misty rainforest, alive with birdsong and golden monkeys. Guided by expert trackers, you’ll navigate the dense jungle until you come face-to-face with a habituated gorilla family. Spend a magical hour observing them feeding, playing, and interacting in their natural habitat.

In the afternoon, explore the scenic twin lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera before returning to your lodge for a well-deserved dinner and rest.

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive back to Kigali, passing through Rwanda’s dazzling green hills — a final glimpse of this beautiful country. The journey takes approximately two and a half hours, with snacks provided to enhance your experience along the way, before arriving at the airport for your departure flight.
