Big Five Safari in Tanzania & Kenya

Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino — the five species that gave the African safari its name are the benchmark by which many travellers measure a first trip to the continent. Each requires its own conditions and terrain: lion and elephant in healthy numbers across Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, leopard in riverine woodland like Tarangire and Samburu, and rhino concentrated in closely protected reserves such as Ol Pejeta.
